NLA as of December.
Wait, back up. All water pumps made by Aisin non oil cooler and oil cooler are NLA? Jesus. What are we going to do? What's the next decent brand?

Aisin non oil cooler WPT-063
Aisin for oil cooler WPT-028 (NLA)

I'm sure the other vendor part places probably still have the WPT-063 in stock.

Not quite, the non-oil cooler (+Fan clutch) version, as well as the oil cooler (Without fan clutch) versions are both still available through Aisin.
16100-61130 / WPT-028 (pictured above), Oil cooler and Fan clutch (most +80 engines) are the one that was discontinued recently. It actually was only availabe from Toyota and not Aisin for the last few years, they were only about $85 at the dealer though.

Easy button right now if you HAVE to have an Aisin water pump is pony up for NOS or delete oil cooler.

I hate oil coolers and usually delete them but this one is going on this motor.

Agree 100%. I was a lot more annoyed about Aisin discontinuing FHT013

Jesus the hubs? I guess when they run out @Racer65 will have the people he has reproducing the long body ASCOs make them

Surely Aisin will keep making them.

Sadly AISIN has discontinued dozens and dozens of part numbers in the last 12-36 months, and Toyota has done the same on many of those same. :(

For example the popular 16110-61081/16110-61081-77 that fits the 8/76-1/79 Cali Spec & 1/79-7/87 2F Fed Spec W/Oil Cooler & W/Fan Clutch... is now dead from both OEM (went NLA in ~October 2024) and AISIN (~Sept 24). There is a chance it pops back up in the GR Heritage parts program as many AISIN items have but, this was available from TMNA in the US so it would be odd for AISIN to kill it and Toyota to kill it from distribution just to add it back to the GRH parts line. I've not personally dug into that one any further, we have a handful in stock and some in storage.

Many, many AISIN hubs, water pumps, brake master cylinders, etc have been killed off by AISIN in the last few years. There are decent other aftermarket ptions out there in the world and we have some inbound as we run out of the NOS stuff.

Out of curiosity, which OEM belt(s) are you after @wrgnog?

WPT-028 was most certainly available from AISIN, we received them well into fall 2024. It was sell-thru starting in 2023

Welcome to 2022 :D. They did a sell-thru into 2023 and by then they were all gobbled up. We still have plenty :D

The hubs are easy, when we run out of the gold FHT013, we already have an identical actual AISIN work-around in play

Not to beat the AISIN thing to death but while I loathe them discontinuing many items, I do understand from a volume perspective, especially considering just how many parts they have on new Toyota models that they are surely looking at bringing into their aftermarket program. They could sell hundreds of xyz water pump or thousands of another, which one deserves more shelf space?

Along with that AISIN is getting into a ton of other genre offerings such as tools (not made in Japan), strollers (yes baby strollers), tire machines, wheels (which do look kinda cool), etc.

Sorry for the hijack Nolan.

I'm glad Matt brought all of this up. I had no idea these common things were drying up.

Cool pics.

There have been some recent threads on the 61081 water pump, but unless you’re actively scanning the NLA threads, it’s easy for those to slip by until you go to order one. We do have an aftermarket Japan made water pump that will go live shortly. The only water pumps we ares struggling to to source with a Japanese replacement is the 60010/60011 and 60080, basically the 1958-12/74 cast iron pumps. Though as you know, we can swap them to the newer aluminum body with a plastic fan blade.

I can’t really say the number new discontinued parts is any worse over the years, and between innovative vendors and the GRH parts program, we may actually be ahead in some aspects.

I think the FHT013 hubs stopped production before Matt was in business let alone selling AISIN. :DFortunately they had a decent supply so the sell thru took a year or so. I’m not at my CrOut desk today (I’m taking over @cruiserdan ’s desk office today 😄) but I’ll post up some of the other dead AISIN hubs. They are basically funneling everything to a few part numbers, so while colors and shapes vary, they're are functional solutions. We do have a play for the proper profile gold hubs as supplied exhaust on the originals.
