I love how many drove their old rigs halfway across the country to this event then back home.

Something I dream of every day.

My butt is having phantom pains just typing this…..

From the approach to Engineer Pass

I saw the look on your face when this topo was displayed in front of everyone
I was in the bathroom when we won - Karen stood up to retrieve it. When I got back I was really confused because I couldn't make sense of what exactly it was in the fading dusk light. Once I finally figured it out, it kind of washed over me how cool it was. We're always looking for more unique art objects to hang on the walls at home so it's perfect.

Well that should qualify for unique and cool. Fits you well

I guess I need to get mine up on a wall and report back to the group. It sure is really nice and I’m still trying to determine the perfect wall for it to be displayed (surrounded by a plethora of SAS photo’s)

For now, I felt it quite appropriate to store it above my gun safe….

What an awesome week. First year for me to head home on Friday which did hurt. Typically this event has been a 10-14 day excursion in the CO mountains, but this year my day job was calling. Zero complaints as I will be back on track next year. Isn’t that right @drenmaster

Still an awesome week, but felt incomplete without the after party.. No big deal SAS9 will be a blast and is right around the corner 😂.

Thanks again to all the SAS crew, sponsors, and the KOA for putting on this amazing event!

Sponsors supporting sponsors. I patronized @Flatlanderfj40 ‘s Coloradoland Tire today. 10/10 service. Go see his guys for your rubber if you’re in Colorado or Kansas.

Thanks, Jim. Looks great. Weights on the inside for the win 😎. Be happy to rotate and balance them for the life of the tire. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Do you have any locations around Salida? MooseCaboose could use some new shoes.

ALSO!!! @Mesa Woman, @80Lady, and other gals who lurk the testosterone-filled halls of MUD, if you’d like to get more lady dirt time throughout the year and haven’t checked out Lady Owned Toyotas, you might just be missing out. I can’t speak for other states (it’s worldwide), but I know the Colorado branch is VERY active. We’ve done brunches, movies, done recovery and newby classes, ran all kinds of trails from easy peasey Phantom Canyon to Slaughterhouse, China Wall, Black Bear, they’re planning an overlanding/ghost town trip in the fall. Huge group of friendly, knowledgeable, maybe slightly unhinged, ladies. Us Cruisers gals could definitely use more representation in the sea of 4Runners and Tacos. 😅

Thank you, Casey!! I’ll definitely look into it… I see an 80 in my future!! Would love to get more time on the dirt! 🙌🏼

@TheBlackSheep A friend of mine started up “Drive Like a Girl 4x4” on Instagram too. She’s been organizing trips and trainings and stuff. She’s currently building an FJ80 - one of us.

Stellar .

Here is the official release of the vaunted world record solid axle group photo from SAS8.
PM me if you want a high resolution version of any of these.
