Do I sandblast and then repair all the body rot or try to find all the body rot, repair it and then sandblast? Not making it show quality just a trail rig that gets weekend DD use. Not going to bondo it either as I'm only worried about rust, not looks...

Thanks,
Brittain

Sand blasting is just a big mess...If this is a DD/Trail Rig, fix what bothers you, cut and weld in patch panels as needed. Use a rust conversion product if your not rusted through, or its not structural.

Sandblasting cleans metal that has minor rust, all panel repairs through metal should be replaced.

Sandblasting has its place, I would never completely blast a truck ever again, guy warped all the panels..

It' a very open end question. Sandblasting can show you exactly what you have to work with. I probably would not do panels, as other have said about the warping. I did the frame and other small parts. Sandblast the rust and strip the rest of the areas if needed or if the paint is good, feather it in and keep going.
Rust works 24 hours a day and we can't.
Post up pictures of the areas you are thinking of and it will make for a better answer.

I would only let a pro sandblast body panels ever again..

If I were to do some type of media blasting, I think have soda blasting on body panels, clean and nice to the planet..
