Anyone have a lead on a manufacturer or provider of run-flat tires (wheels) for the 100 series? Looking more for the polyurethane ring surrounding the wheel than for a tire with stiff sidewalls. There are a couple pictures floating around and one member here has his Mexican armored rig outfitted with them. I haven't found much elsewhere.

Just curious, aside from the obvious, why would you want a run flat tire? Are you ditching your spare and spare tools? I know there are some Kevlar reinforced tires readily available, but not sure of the effectiveness against puncture or damage.

Slider you are talking about the PAX system. Good luck with that. You have to have a special tire machine to mount them and trying to even find any parts of the PAX system to use. Think of it like beta (PAX) vs VHS (normal run flat tires)

A normal run flat tire you would not be able to tell the difference if not noted on the sidewall. A run flat tire you can dribble like a basket ball the sidewall is so stiff.

Thanks guys. I think I found what I'm after: http://rodgard.com/hutchinsoncrf.htm

The PAX system was one of the things I ran across, but didn't know what it was called or that it was proprietary to Michelin.

Hutchinson makes some cool looking wheels too so I may explore what they offer after the long weekend.

If you've seen recent news from the border towns or have been to Brownsville or Laredo lately you'll get a better idea of where I'm going with the desire for run-flats.

I'm already running heavy steel wheels with spacers and 295 70 18 Nittos so any extra weight won't make much of a difference for me. it's more of a have it and not need it, then need it and not have it kind of thing.

Loud you make a good point, but I don't get onto the rocks much. I'm mainly sticking to the coastal fishing spots and heading back and forth to deer camp.
