Daaamn! And Sammy only ran it once through! 80's/33's/lockers seems to be the magic combo. Agree with the no flare idea. Clown-I hope you can come to Rubicon this year. It is a great time.

Seriously, Sam almost tipped his truck at the springs, then got totally hammered on vitamin T, then cut his eye, barfed and stillhad a great time.

If my 40 isn't finished, then I'll be bringing the 80 this year too. Hope to see you there!

I let my guard down at the springs and almost paid for it...a 40 or two almost had a similar fate.
yeah, that vitamin T will get you especially if you don't have a flashlight walking between camps. The eye makes for a great story and a wonderful memory of my first trip to the CON. The only part that sucked was that I count see all that well our of my left eye on the drive out.

Mike I hope to see you on the trail too.

I'm planning on returning to the Rubithon this year...the last time I ran it was the snow flurry run two years ago brrrrr. Unfortunately, the 80 will only be doing tow duty for the 40. Heck, running a spring over, locked 40 with 37's is just too much fun on the rocks. I'm lookin' to hit the Thursday run...hopefully I'll get to hang with a few 80's! That would be very cool.

Ian, thank you I was waiting for the Rubi, site to get up and running but that link is great....for those too lazy to open the link:flipoff2: I've copy pasted the info below.

Rubithon - This aint no Jamboree Baby!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TLCA is proud to Host it's premier event Rubithon, June 20 to 24, 2007.

Details are being developed! Web site is not current... www.rubithon.com

Note: All trucks must meet minimum truck requirements: at least 33" tires with some aggressive tread, and either tranny/tcase gears or front and rear lockers (a combination of both is best).

This run is not for the timid or faint of heart. Body damage make you ill, stay home. :-)

Return attendees can expect to see some changes... Primarily:

Emphasis on Safety! Last year, hand and finger injuries were rampant. All passengers will be expected to wear gloves when exiting the truck to spot or toss rocks.
New Runs! Discussions are underway for a new Wagon Only run on Wednesday and the new Tahoe Easy In run on Friday, Entering from the Lake Tahoe side. This run will drop you quick and easily into Rubicon Springs on Friday afternoon.

Of course, some traditions will continue as always including: Committee Awards ceremony Friday night followed by the Marauder Bar! You have not seen anything like this bar! Saturday night BBQ dinner prepared by the Henle's, Ross and your TLCA friends and volunteers. And of course, the Sunday Exit Strategy to everyone can get home safely.

Expect more to come on this... and thanks for reading.

a Quick note on the body damage point that is mentioned since quite a few of you will probably linger on that and freak out. It (BD) happens when you don't pay attention, don't listen to your spotter, have a s***ty spotter (non wagon/experienced person you know), or take the harder lines.
