She's a 10 month old Pointer/Border Collie mix, we adopted her almost three weeks ago, and she's a great pup. She has energy and loves to play, but also can be very calm, relaxed, and feeds off of my energy well.

She's sharp as a tack - in one day she actually got to the point where, after I wrangle her to my side, she will sit, stay while I throw the ball, and wait until I release her! She isn't 100% on bringing it back, but we'll work on that ;)

Anyway, here's some pics!

I'm wanting to train her for bird hunting, though I'm not sure I'll be doing any of that. The job and the training should be very fun and fulfilling for both of us, however. Any books you guys recommend for this?

Great looking pup:cheers:
For bird training, I am using the Delmar Smith method.
The reason for that particular method is that is what my hunting partner uses. His shorthairs are awesome in the field.
Try to find a mentor, helps tremendously with the learning curve.
Enjoy your pup

Thanks! One of my parent's neighbors used to do this sort of training, I'll have to talk to him about it when I see him next.

Full blood borders are very trainable and very HIGH ENERGY... I don't know if the pointer will calm that down any at all. But, be very cautious and do not discipline too much or too harshly.. Borders spirits can be broken very quickly from what I've read and heard from ranchers in my area.. But, all in all I think they are a tremendously intelligent breed as well is a pointer. She is a good looking pup.
