Lucky to be alive!

Wickad pissah!

D@mn!! You gotta stay away from da middle. He is lucky.

This happened to Lorena's bumper a few years back at the GAP in Auburn. Tom was stuck in his DD 80-Series in a mud pit and we were snatching him and the rear cross member went flying back like this one after 2 or twelve rev-limiter tugs. Onliest difference was we were smart enough to be very clear of the strap.

Like the factory rear cross member..... dang you was given'er hell.

It was after I had already taken a foot out of the frame and welded it back on. I ain't ever pretended to be a good welder, just a welder. It was also a 120V flux-core, so we knew it was prolly about to happen.

Ah, ok. Nothing against your welding skillz, but that makes me feel better about the back end of the 80.

I totally agree! The factory cross member in original form would never do that. It's welded in three places, top, bottom and side... it would not fall off. I had only spot welded the top and bottom...

Randomly found a TimeHop from earlier this year about the episode from 2010...

That's toothackles in the water that scored $20 for getting the bumper...
