Marine Vinyl

In my quest to give my trans hump and the interior wheel wells (misplaced my factory rubber wheel well covers) a finished look. I did a little experiment tonite with some marine vinyl. I used headliner adhesive and a heat gun and was able to pull and stretch the vinyl without any cuts. Its still looks like bed liner until you get close. I'll most likely use black.

No its not floor vinyl, that would take some serious stretching, its upholstery vinyl, you can pick it up at local fabric shops just make sure you check the back, has pink lines and says Marine Quality

sweet, thanks i am making up some door trims at work out of 1.6mm sheet metal and i think a skin of this would be a nice finishing touch, tho it would look 'tough' with bare metyal trims :D, but not too stock....

Modified Moose Rack, Nuts & Bolts, Rivets.

Today I was going to finish the rack and then get my seats back in. The ATV Ramp that has been converted for the 80 does not fit the 55, its to narrow, and not by a little, like 8 inches. So I spend all day modifying the rack, added 8 inches and I don't have a welder so this thing is bolted together and as you can see in the pictures it was necessary to widen it.
The plates for the gutter mounts will be welded to the rack as will the brackets for the awning along with the front and rear extensions, by a local shop.

Pigs Floor Pattern

Thanks guys, hopefully I can get rid of some of the bolts once I have it welded.
Spent a few hours on the Pig today, installed the trans hump the A/C unit the rear seat latch and started on the floor pattern that I'll use to cut the mat that will cover the floor. I'll make a few extra's if anyone is interested or if we decide to have a full carpet kit made.

I got the mat at a high end carpet shop they had quite a few different type of rubber floor products. I'll give them a call and see if it's still available. I found the company www.dmikc.com
look under woven vinyl, the one I purchased is Seasons #112, as I recall it was not expensive, I purchased 6x10 Ft

Tonight I polished up the rear seat catches paint the bases and replace the little plastic spacer thing with polyetylene tubing, sliced it open and it snaped right on.

Lou the mat is Black, so yeah it must be the lighting.

So I finally finish the 55 Moose rack, I have to rivet four more 2x89 inch slats to finish the floor. If anybody is going to make one call me for details. I learned a lot and could save you hours and money. The tabs sticking up are supports for the Awning.

Door Panels Installed

So today I got all the door panels installed and this Pig is finally looking complete. I used heavy duty Velcro, used about six pieces per panel. The lighter shade of vinyl on the panels is the same vinyl as the seats. Took her for a drive and she is so quite, the sound deadener works great. Next up is to take care of the surface rust in the cargo panel area and get the stereo installed.
