Weekend work

Saturday I took the pig to Middleburg Va for the Va Gold Cup, Steeple Chase Racing, drinking and people watching. The Pig got all the attention and had to be in all the pictures. This time the awning was staked down and clearly marked with police tape so the drunks didn't trip over them.

Weekend work

:bounce2: Have to say, it was a good day.
The round trip was about 100 miles and the truck ran great and was loaded with three big coolers and food for 30 people. The Monroe Air shocks are pretty nice, stopped and put a little air to keep things level and the ride is great.
The day before I put down Second Skin Heat Mat and Dyna pad on top to keep the heat down, I ran it up the fire wall, the front and rear floor area and under the seats. .What a difference, kept things cool and quiet but it all came out when I got home because the trucks leaks a little water when it rains or I wash it and collects in the drivers floor area. So until I get the weather strips and the new hinges I don't want to ruin the heat mat.

Rear Area

Today, I removed the rear seat so I can start installing Second Skin. I found about eight bolt holes in the floor that needed to be plugged, I used stainless and used this fire sealant around them and also plan on using it around all the tubes that run through the fire wall to seal everything up. The other stuff came from the local glass shop, they said I could use it to set my glass or the weather strip in the regulator channel.
I also finished one wheel well with the first layer of the Second Skin product.
And removed the rear seat clamp it was completly cover with rust and sanding, steelwool barely changed it. Then I sprayed this rust remover stuff on it and what a change, this stuff works, I wish I had a before shot.

Rust Stuff & Wheels

Lou, www.krudkutter.com , but I picked this up at Home Depot.
The wheels are $145.00 each, and you have to send them your wheels to cut the centers. I'll have pic's in a day or two.

Wheel Porn

My old hub caps were pretty tired looking, so I put in a call to CruiserDan and he hooked me up with brand new caps for less than $100.00. As you can see in the photo these wheels required quite a bit of ugly wheel weights , so I'll just have to paint them. Really like the look.

Pig Run

Wish I could make the Pig Run but I have to work that Sat and front seats are coming out this weekend to start Dynamat and Second Skin front firewall and floor area.

Quiet Pig

Pulled the front seats and bracket and finished laying down Dynamat on the front and rear floor areas. I purchased both Dynamat and Second Skin Damplifier Pro and also Second Skin Fire Wall Sludge and Spectrum .
What you see here is the Fire Wall Sludge (ceramic to keep heat out) and is some thick stuff. Plan on pulling the A/C unit and will do this to the fire wall and then shoot the Spectrum over top. They also sell a liquid Activator that will turn Spectrum into Sludge so you can lay it done really thick.
When I'm done this will be one quiet and cool Pig.

Lou,
My 55 came with the seat belts Ironpig likes to install but the head liner and side liner is in already. Do you know if the 71 Would have the hole hidden in there to bold the top bolt of the shoulder strap in?
I need to order that console. I guess it is time to do some measuring again. I recall it being Camel?

Goebs

By the way, The rims make the truck! Great call! Might be a needed change some day for my junk. Did you supply them with any rims or do they have it all as an option?

Goebs
I think they drilled and welded a plate. Call them for the details, as for the wheels, I sent them my old Cruiser wheels that they cut the centers out. They will powder coat them any color you want. If my floors fall out do to excess weight I will donate them to the floor replacement cause. Yes the Tuffy Box is camel color.

Dynamat and Pillar Rust

Spent a good seven hours on the Pig today, finishing the Dynamat and shot some pictures of the surface rust inside my cargo panels.
Next up, Second Skin Firewall and then shoot the Spectrum sound deadening.
I have ordered the products to kill the surface rust and Panel Coating along with the Spray Gun with 36 inch extention tube to shoot inside the pillars.
