Does anyone know if a ARB Series III Simpson Rooftop Tent is able to be installed on a Gobi Stealth roof rack?

If not an ARB Tent; does anyone know of any Rooftop Tent that can properly be installed on a Gobi rack?

Please advise.

Thanks!

Subscribed as my Gobi rack will be here Monday.

Had the Yakima Skyride on my Gobi Stealth. Never used it be that is not because of the tent. Learned that the RTT approach isn't suitable for our typical use case when camping. But here are some pics. One of the best things about the Yakima is the mounting system. BTW, I use the movable (not permanent) crossbars on my Gobi Stealth.

Thanks for your response and the pics!

Did you place the Tent in the forward area of the rack due to the slight curvature of the rack or for a different reason?

Would it work located towards the rear of the rack; where the curvature is present?

Thanks again!

Good question, Joe. I actually placed it more forward so I could mount my MaxTrax and shovel behind it making those easier to access from my ladder. It could certainly go further back. I also like to use my sun roof so I was trying to find a happy medium between the two. Note that this is the 2-person size, the smaller size.

I’m very happy with the GOBI. It’s extremely solid.

With respect to MPG; I can’t offer much help as I did quite a bit of work on my cruiser so I’m not certain what impact the rack has. I get between 12.6 and 14.2 mpg depending on conditions, weight, setup, etc.

Hope this helps!
