My wife has a 2006 tacoma and wants to put a roof top tent on the shell. It has a leer shell. I was wondering if the shell would support the weight of a roof top tent and the two of us at a total of 300lbs? If not what suggestions would you make to be able to use the tent?

Who Replied?Does your leer cap have the factory installed roof rack? if so it actually has wood boards layed into/encased by the fiberglass. I used to install these but i can't recall the weight limits for them. I'd give leer a call directly and ask what the cargo capacity is for the roofrack, both static(parked) and dynamic (driving down the road)
