roof rack

I got my new FJ with the factory rack, and now am looking for some sort of basket -type rack to mount on top of the factory rack, I have my buddy fabricating an extra 1-3/4" aluminum crossbar for the OEM rack, since the sliding crossbar is too flimsy.
I have seen a few basket type racks, Yakima, Pro-line, and a few more, that can be mounted on factory racks.
I plan to use it once in a while to tie down 2 x 4 's, and other stuff for the house renovation. I dont need anything like the Tradesman rack i have on my 60, which i will use when i need big, heavy stuff, just something for camping, and impulse buys.
any sugestions?

i love the gobi, but the $$$$$$ would kill me, plus i have a big guy on the 60.

We run a Yakima MegaWarrior on our '60 which works great for light-to-medium duty work, e.g. gear bags, float tubes, etc... but it's no Inti, Hannibal, or ARB. Should be fine for what you've described, including the 2x4's.

I'll be using my factory rack til ARB comes out with a nice rack. I don't like the Gobi, it looks funny with the front taller than the back etc...

ARB will be coming out with FJ specific stuff soon as they had one shipped over to Australia to aid in design of new gear for it.

I would suppose that as they engineer new goodies, they will display them here first, before their USA distributor does.
