Frank received a letter about a project being done on the Roaring Creek Trail. This connects Bald Mountain to Deadman.

The summary of the project is as follows:
The National Forest Service wants to put in a stream crossing at Roaring Creak in order to protect a native cutthroat trout. The current open water crossing leaves sediment and the water becomes turbid, which can cause problems to the fish. The trail will be shut down during construction but construction will not begin until the end of the summer in order to keep the trail open during times of heavy activity.
If you would like to comment on the project, contact Kris Sexton at (970) 295-6642. Please make contact before August 20th, 2008.
For written comments, mail to

If you would like a copy of the full letter, let me know and I'll get you one asap.
