Just a heads up, I have posted this on the fjcruiserowners.com forums as well as the ih8mud forums. So you might have seen this already.

I would like to see if there are members that would be interested in planning and organizing group road trips :steer: here on the forum? I am an avid road tripper and my wife also enjoys them but likes to stop along the way and check out the sites. I would like to see a caravan of FJCs cruising along the nations highways, heading into national parks and other offroading sites.

I am planning for a special road trip that is of a personal goal of mine. To drive the Pan American highway from Alaska to the southern most tip of South America. Of course I would do this during the summer months when I am out of school (I am a teacher, well soon will be) but would love to have the time to stop and explore along the way. The trip is about 30,000 miles from beginning to end, not including any side trips. I know it is a lot of driving but wow, what a story to tell the grand kids and everyone else and imagine the pictures you would have. We might even be able to get sponsors? :hhmm:

I think it would be awesome to have a group of FJCs organized to do this trip together or at least parts of it. I am trying to talk the wife into driving to Fairbanks Alaska and the Denali Forest this summer from Indiana (Naptown). I think I halfway have her convinced to do it. She is just not sold on all the camping along the way, she would like to balance it out with some overnight accommodations in some hotels...bah! :crybaby:

Just throwing this out to see how others feel about road trips and if there would be an interest in a group trip in the future.

Sounds like a real good time, but my vacation schedule just won't allow it.:crybaby:

I plan to drive to the grand canyon via rt 66. then to vegas, then moab, then accross CO using as little pavement as possible. Then hook up with i80 and head home. Plus im doing it all in the red 4runner:grinpimp:

That sounds like a good trip. When are you planning on heading out? The FJSummit 08 is in Ouray in July the week of the 16th I think.
