Thanks Dave. Hope we can all get together at the cruiser crawl and hash some things out

opps, I guess somebody did suggest we get together . . . and some of us did meet around the big iron pot. Although we agreed there was work to do, I don't know if those few of us got anywhere.

...And where can we find the bylaws?

Good question. I am sure I have a copy somewhere. Maybe. I know I had a paper copy years ago... not sure about a digital copy that I could get on the web easy but I'll see.

Rick? Gary? Casey? Jeremy? Any of you guys have one?

...something that's close to central Ark. . . Russellville ? ? ?

I'm all for R'ville.

...who's doing what on the weekend of Nov. 6th or 13th? or Dec. 4th? just to name a couple weekends

Those are all open for me. Shall we go with the first one and post it, then we can adjust later if need be?

"My suggestion is to throw a date on the page. There will never be a date that's right for everybody, so . . . fall's slipping past pretty quick, who's doing what on the weekend of Nov. 6th or 13th? or Dec. 4th? just to name a couple weekends"

comments ?

Stacey,
I think I'd be free for any of those weekends to have a meeting and/or trail run. I'm ready to send in my dues via mail or paypal when it's decided what they're going to be, etc.

Also, I'm very interested in the history of the RLC. Maybe some of those who've been around awhile can answer these questions for me:

1. How old is the Razoback Landcruisers club?
2. What has the membership (numbers) been like through the years?
4. Anyone have a guess at how big RLC is now?
3. How long has the Ramble been going on?
4. Why did the "official" Ramble not take place this year?
5. Where historically have RCC members wheeled/ gone trail riding?
6. Does the RCC have any "unofficial" association with the AR Crawlers a.k.a. does RLC membership ever wheel with them?
7. In the past, has Bobby Moran @ The Cruiser Company OR the shop he split off from OR Donnies Offroad OR 4X4 Mud Connection in Little Rock sponsored and event or donated raffle items to one of the RLC events?
8. Lastly, who owns/owned the mid-80's 4Runner with the large Razorback on the doors--was that it at SCC (with the doors removed) this last weekend? I love that truck!
9. After I join, can I get/buy some swag for myself and my cruiser? i.e. RLC stickers and maybe a left-over t-shirt? :p

Guess that's all I have right now. Just curious. Humor me. :)

My memory may be fuzzy on some of this...

1. How old is the Razoback Landcruisers club? - founded 1999

2. What has the membership (numbers) been like through the years? - Never huge. not sure what our highest numbers were - maybe couple dozen

4. Anyone have a guess at how big RLC is now? - I'd have to ask Gary. Gary?

3. How long has the Ramble been going on? - First one was a meet and run up around the Mulberry in the Ozarks. 2000 I think? There may have been one the year before, too. ??

4. Why did the "official" Ramble not take place this year? - Not sure. It was decided to make it a biannual event, but I wasn't there for that.

5. Where historically have RCC members wheeled/ gone trail riding? - When I got involved back around 2001ish we did some rides out at chenal, up in the Ozarks, Cass, etc. Those more hardcore than me had some other playgrounds, too. When Superlift started up we moved the Ramble there pretty quick, IIRC.

6. Does the RCC have any "unofficial" association with the AR Crawlers a.k.a. does RLC membership ever wheel with them? - We have had many shared members in the past but no close cooperation on events that I recall

7. In the past, has Bobby Moran @ The Cruiser Company OR the shop he split off from OR Donnies Offroad OR 4X4 Mud Connection in Little Rock sponsored and event or donated raffle items to one of the RLC events? - Bobby and Bryant were instrumental in helping to get the club going along with a lot of other Cruiser heads; Gary, Rick and his gavel, Jeremy, Dave, Hardin, Casey, Bob... I'm forgetting a bunch so I'm going to quit trying. We used to meet regularly at The Cruiser Company when they were still working together at Bryant's place, They have both donated and helped in big ways over the years. Donny I'm not sure about... I think he has donated to the Ramble in the past.

8. Lastly, who owns/owned the mid-80's 4Runner with the large Razorback on the doors--was that it at SCC (with the doors removed) this last weekend? I love that truck! - Gary Gill

9. After I join, can I get/buy some swag for myself and my cruiser? i.e. RLC stickers and maybe a left-over t-shirt? - Yep. There is new stuff coming and Gary Clough has some shirts and stickers and hats still if you can't wait.

Zat help?

I got started with the club when we were shopping for a 55 back around 99-2000 I think. I stopped by the Cruiser Co and Bobby and Bryant pointed me to TLCA and the RLC. Got addicted to the old LCML and the Pig List. I dropped out a few years ago due to lack of time and scheduling conflicts with family vacations. Having fun getting back in the groove again, though. :D

Dave, that was great! I feel a little more "filled-in" now.

Little background on me:
I've always been into 4X4's since Dad got his first 4WD Suburban in the late 80's. My bother and I and our friends took the family 4X4's places we had no business taking them! Dad never caught on--(he never said anything at least) we'd always have them cleaned and gassed-up after our after school adventures.

I had a string of the usual high-school 4WD's, mainly K5's, Z71's and a 2 Dr Tahoe in college. After I got married we bought a 1999 SR5 4WD 4Runner 'Sport Edition'----the one with the questionable scoop on the hood! It was polo green and I loved it. Seemed to me it'd go everywhere (mainly at deercamp).

Fast forward a few years and a close buddy of mine get's himself a cherry 1996 FZJ-80 out of Dallas. I'd never paid attention to LC's much before then except drooling over the occasional FJ 40. Well, that 80 Series eventually was sold to my parents which meant that I got to drive it occasionally. This rig had 150K miles on it and was the tightest vehicle I'd ever driven. No creeks, squeeks, shimmies, nothing. I was impressed to say the least.

Shortly thereafter I discovered that Bobby and the Cruiser Company were less than two miles west on Col Glenn from my parent's house. I liked to go there and pick his brain (he was good enough to let me see all his projects and answer all my questions). I found Ih8mud about the same time and quickly became addicted and started looking for my own 80-series. A year later I found one in LR in my price range--and it had factory lockers. Bought it the next day and I've been baselining it and modifying it ever since.

I got to see how capable it was last weekend at the Southern Cruiser Crawl and I'm now even more anxious to join RLC and go on some runs with my fellow Arkies, Missourians, Memphicans, etc,

Sorry for the book! Got carried away I guess :hhmm:

I thought that the Ramble this year was "official"?

When we meet are we going to go ahead and vote in some new meat?(officers)

Anyway set a date and lets see who will show.

You're right. '10 was official. '09 was a skip.

Nov 6th then? In Russellville? I'll stick a new thread up to get attention and some fresh input.

As far as an election, If we get a good batch of folks interested and talking I'm all for doing it any time y'all want to. I was thinking we'd get the membership drive going and try to get more than a handful of voting members first, then hold the regular election in the spring.

I would agree that a membership drive b4 an election would be good. Probably looks more sensible like that.

I have a local guy wanting to be a member so i sent him to our web site to join. He e-mailed me back and said that the pay-pal payment would not work. Anyone know about this? Or are we sticking to the 19th century of getting money.

Just had a look see at the web site. I see that it is under construction. Should of checked that out before my last post. Sorry. We had talked about loosening up on the TLCA membership mumbo jumbo at the last meeting, is that going to be ok with the RLC'ers or did the fab 5 make a bad decision?
