I'm planning to install a 700r4 and an Orion this winter ! I currently have 3.73 which work great with a 350 and 33" tires on the road. Not the best off road though. Which orion should I use and what differential gears ? Oh, I'm going to 35" tires too. TIA . Kirk

4:1 with 4.10 gears sounds about right to me.

You shouldn't have too much trouble finding someone who want to trade their FJ62 4.11 for 3.73 for better fuel mileage. Try posting up in the "wanted" or "For Sell" sections.

I shipped my old FJ60 3.73's to Oregon and traded with a guy who really wanted them..... We both came out to the good.....

Kirk , try it with the 3.73s. that auto makes a big difference plus a 350 should have enough torque to handle it. You can always change it later if you don't like the 3.73s

Craig what you say makes sense. Worry about tranny and transfer first, then change gears later if needed. I guess I've watched to many Overhaulin episodes. Thanks
