Ring and pinion kits

I’ve got a 98 with factory lockers. The ring and pinion front and rear are SLOPPY. U-joints are solid. There is a hard thud going into gear and when transitioning from deceleration to acceleration. This has been confirmed by a Toyota master tech, so I’m confident in the diagnosis.

Long story short, I was about to but the full kit front and rear from Nitro Gears and they have apparently gone out of business. I’m looking for alternative solutions, preferably a complete kit. I’ve looked online and struggled to find anything made for the 98 with factory lockers.

Any help would be much appreciated

This has nothing to do with what’s inside your differential. Do a search for “thunk” on this forum and see. If you otherwise believe your master tech you can buy a full diff new from Toyota still. Make a wager with the Tech and if that doesn’t fix it, he pays.

The tech is family and works for a 12 pack when needed. But I would LOVE to find a cheaper solution than a complete rebuild and bestow some info on him
