I'm thinking of trying out this trail up by the San Gabriel Reservoir. Anyone has experience with this trail? There are some discussions on the web and the trail looks to be easy but one just never knows.

Never been but I’ve watched videos and it seems pretty manicured. Also I believe you need to get a key from the city and put down a 100 dollar deposit. That was a few years ago so not sure if things have changed.
Checking the Forest Service map it looks like it's closed so maybe call ahead.

Yep on both counts. Permit is needed. Closed because of fire.
