Request for Information
Hello. I have just been informed that I will be moving back to Ontario after several years away; got tp spend five lovely years in the upper Ottawa valley.
Question I have is I have an 1985 BJ60, since Ontario I have lived in Manitoba, British Columbia and the USA. The truck has a solid frame (POR-15) but the rear wheel wells have rusted out completely – although it looks way better than my first BJ60 you can’t leave a beer can in the rear of the truck as it would fall out.
I am going through an estimate in my head with the following issues. I am going away for 12 months this August which would necessitate having the truck in storage, I would then be moving to Ontario.
Question is – what are the guidelines for the out of province inspection for older vehicles. Am I likely to be denied licensing based on rust holes through the body?
Any advice would be appreciated; trying to decide if it is worth it to store for a year, get it fixed then try to bring it back to Ontario or just source another one once I get there.
