Has anyone put the 3inch Revtek lift on their truck (FJC)? How hard was it to put on, what is the actual lift at the front, and what is the ride like. Any comments welcome. (left myself open on that one, be nice) Michael

By most all accounts it's easy to install and works well offroad. remember that it is a spacer lift, if that matters to you. For some pics of the Revtek FJCs in action click below!

I have the OME. Love it. You cant go wrong with it. It is well worth the extra dollars spent.

OME

I wanted the OME lift but, got a great deal on the Revtek lift. Will have to see what it does in the future when Bull Bar and winch are put on. Thanks for the reply's. Will post some pic's when lift is instaled. Michael:D

any spacer lift will sag and respond sluggishly with the extra weight. you need the hd springs and struts. you can always use both and get, say 6"...

One of the guys that I wheel with has a BentUp front bumper and he had the RevTek lift for a while. It seemed to handle the weight just fine (i.e. It did not appear to sag.). The ride was horrible with the spacers. He recently switch to a SkyJacker coilover suspension system and is now very happy. He hated the RevTek lift. If you are going purely for looks and don't plan to take your FJ off road then go ahead with the RevTek. If you plan to use your FJ off road then do yourself a favor and get an OME or coil over suspension system. With that said, you need to send that POS spacer lift back and save your money for something better if you plan to use your FJ.

Boy, I'll say. I have the Revtek and its best (only?) redeeming quality is a quick, cheap way to get the FJC up in the air. After I get the rear bumper completed I'm going after the 'hoes. Couldn't come quick enough.

I have the Rough Country 3" and love it works well on and offroad.....but the rear springs are soft, very soft........ probly be upgrading in the near future with the new bumpers and side protection and Bud Built skids....... when I was at the Toyota Owners event in Las Vegas I saw the Revtek guys there and talked to them and looked over their rig and it didn't seem to sag all that much with the bumper and winch they had installed....... I personally think they would be ok to rum for awhile until you can afford to upgrade or even want to upgrake sometime in the future.

I have the lift on and must say it rides a little stiffer than stock, but no where as stiff as my lifted Jeep TJ. The Fj handles very well on the street and off road as well. I will keep this lift on until i save up enough for a better lift. Thanks for all the reply's. Michael

I put the DR when I got mine, one of the first on the lot. Thats pretty much all they were selling. But from what I understand DR isn't around anymore. Someone bought them, and its in one of the threads but don't know where.

I love the DRacing.

What does it mean when you say it sag?

Sitting lower due to a load.

kind like my ass at the end of the week. it sags so much it is dragging :p

the Revtek kit installs between the top of the front strut and the spring, effectively preloading the spring and taking 2+" of travel out of your suspension....expect to blow your front shocks out if you offroad the truck and top-out the suspension travel.

the Daystar kit installs with 3 longer studs above the strut and while it doesn't increase suspension travel, it also doesn't take it away.

so if I have 3" revtek lift in time I'll loos the hight? by how much?

height isn't the issue....tho the stock springs will eventually sag if you have a winch/bumper on the rig...the rig I have now (with 71,000 miles on it) does sag in the front some...big surprise with the use we put them through.

the issue is in the shock stroke....with a stock suspension the shocks are at the middle of their 8" stroke....4" up and 4" down. Because Revtek spacers install between the top of the spring and the upper coil 'bucket', they move the springs down lower in the shock stroke, giving you 6" up and 2" down...since the coils bind before the shock compresses fully, your actual travel won't even be the full 8".

(I think it's 8", don't quote it, but the theory holds...might be 8", might be 7", might be 9", but either way the stock ride height is in the middle of the shock travel)

Thanks for that info...

woody i have the easy lift which installs above the struts does this mean i retained all of my stock suspention travle just curious to know.

not sure what the 'easy lift' is....if you simply removed the 3 strut/coilover bolts, inserted a spacer, and re-attached with longer bolts or extensions, then it sounds like it maintains stock travel, just starting at a higher point.

If you disassembled the strut/coilover to install the spacer, then it's design is the same as the Revtek

FJ LIFT
This is what I'm runnin', it was on the truck when I bought it.

If I could do it again I would do it different but it hasn't been bad to me yet.... that said I do have a "pop-pop" noise from my left front whenever I go over a bump quickly...
