Hi!

This is actually my fires post, I've been reading for about 2 weeks... I think I'd end up getting reamed for it, but I'm looking for an FJ62 to modernize. Yes, I'd like to still have if able to go OR with my friend who just purhcased a new Diso.. But I would like to do the custom interior, new seats, re upholoster the interior and keep it stock looking with a 2.5-3" lieft with big nice wheels and tires...

Since it's a 4x4 and not a luxury car, I've yet to see many custom interiors, mostly just new head units.. and some stuff at TLC 4x4, I saw one in there a while back with full leather and 4 buckets, it was pretty sick... I'd like to do something similar... and add nav/xm radio etc...

I have a couple I found FJ62's for $8000-10500 with no rust and low milegale. I'm in L.A. so I want to find a rust free vehicle as that's how it should stay...

Any new interior shots or custom interior pictures you have would be appreciated, you can also email to me at sourcemine@gmail.com

When the website SW changed, a bunch of links got broken. We will see if we can get it working... Let me go check.

Whenever my 60 gets out of the shop I am going to have the interior totally redone. I was going to put in 4 buckets, but I like to have the extra room if need be. Here's the plan:

Everything red and black
2 APC racing seats
reupholster rear seat to match
Dynamat
Black carpet in passenger area
Heavy duty black rubber mats in the cargo area and back of rear seat
redo the dash in Black
all the gray area under dash done in red
black and red door panels to match
little black and red accessories here and there (pedals, shift knobs, floor mats)
Complete Alpine Type-R sound system (components, 6x9s, and a 12, with Punch Amp, and Alpine Head unit.)

There's a guy in the Dallas section of the LSLC that has an urban camo FJ62 and the interior is also urban-camo pattern leather. Sounds weird but it came out really cool, definitely different.

I wanted to do four buckets with a second Tuffy console in between the rear seats but I don't want to lose the practicality of the rear folding seat, it's just too useful.

A few weeks ago I saw a totally redone FJ60 with the entire dash rhino-lined in dark gray. I couldn't find the owner so I had to peer through the glass, but it looked really clean and made the dash look really updated.

Dont work overtime thinking you can make something out of this rigs interior that you cant! If you want a turbo (diesel) fancy interior buy a NEWER vehicle! The best you can really do is have a new (stockish) interior made and then put in some aftermarket seats (recaro, flofit, etc etc etc) and maybe a better center console.

Here is a picture of a nice aftermarket interior. This is head liner, carpet and all seats and door panels. (Curtisy of RADD Cruisers in Naniamo British Columbia)

I recently put Honda Pilot seats up front. Just getting some support back into the drivers seat was a welcome change.

I'd go that route if I were you. Buy some nice used seats off of e-bay and make the brackets work for bolting them in. It takes some time, and some 'outside of the box' thinking to make seats fit a vehicle they were never meant to be in, but with the 60's nice flat floor pan it's not too difficult.

Im putting some Recaros in my 60.

I have some leather front buckets out of a acura. Power, look damn good, feel better and had the back recovered to match.

Got any pics? I'd love to see that, toyed with something similar myself.

il try ,getting them recovered in a week or so, suns hell on leather and letting it sit for a year waiting on me really cracked them . i kept them cleaned and condition since i put them in then sat at my papaws came to get it and they were shot and have gotten worse every day

Yesterday I got a set of seats out of a mid 90's neon for free. Sounded like a good sunday project. They almost straight up fit. I had to drill out a couple of rivets and flip a couple of brackets around but it was easy and they feel real nice. They ended up being a little high in the front, so I just stacked some washers under the bolts for the rear. I've had some pics but my camera won't download.... They are taller overall than the stock seats, so if you are real tall they probably won't work. It makes it a bit easier when you need to bend out the window to get a good look when coming up to an obstacle.
