This question may or may not belong here. Someone thought that it would be funny to smash the glass on the passenger side mirror of my Ford truck. Would it be cheaper to have a glass shop cut a new panel or buy a replacement from the dealer?

What model and year?

Scrap yards would be a good choice if you want to look for one. As far as all of the Fords I have driven, the outside mirrors seemed to all be the same, for the most part.

Between $40 and $130 (w/signal) at Rockauto for a full replacement. I would imagine this is probably the most practical thing to do.
