I think you should do it. Restorations require the original type. The black ones suffice, but the purist wants the gray, and same shape.

I'd still like a pair for mine. Grey would be great but don't have to be exact reproductions either. Just don't want something that looks like it is from the trunk of a Chrysler.

I can have OEM style door plugs made but the cost is high. They would end up being $15 to $17 each. CruiserParts.net has some OEM used ones in stock and they get $25 ea. SOR has generic black plugs for $20 a pair. Not sure what the demand is for these. Toyota discontinued them in 2008.

No one that I am aware of is producing a faithful reproduction. Wish someone would.
