Has anyone every tried to remove the plastic fender flares taht some 100's come with? Are they glued on? If so, are they hard to take off and do they leave residue?

they must be glued on, as they were port installed and 100's don't have the places in the body for clips, like a 80.

but never seen a set up close, the NW didn't get those nasty looking things ;)

I removed mine, they were screwed on and the black rubber along the outside of them was glued on. Biggest pain is cleaning off the residue.

thanks for the advice

matt- what did you do about the holes in the sheet metal where the flares were screwed on?

There were no holes in the sheet metal. There were clips used against the body, so there may be some scratches. The screw holes are inside the wheel well, and not noticable.

Well one flew off while I was driving on the highway. And one ripped off when I had a disagreement with a concrete pole. And I trashed the remaining 2.

On our 2000, the part of the flare mounted to the rear passenger doors actually rubbed through the clear and base coats to the primer, so anyone intending to remove flares may want to check that particular area before removing them, just an FYI...

DASD (do a search, darn it).
The flares were put on 100-series Cruisers headed for dealers in the US Southwest at the Houston port of entry and only installed on the 98, 99 and maybe 2000 model years, AFAIR (as far as I remember from the earlier threads).
I don't recall anybody finding new flares for replacement or new installation. A couple guys have bought used flares from somebody on the board removing theirs for esthetic purposes -- the prevailing "wisdom" is that if one or two flares get torn off, tear the rest off so you have a matching set -grin-.

I removed my fender flares on Saturday. I like it much better without the flares. However, there is adhesive residue that I need to remove somehow.

The bastages did not even put any rubber or adhesives in between the body and the flares for the front two. Strangely, there is no damage to the paint there. However, on the back, there is one area where there is paint damage. The paint is gone and you can actually see rust. It is a rough circle - about a half centimeter in radius.

Anyone knows how I can treat this?

Kat, get some fine sandpaper, 2000 grit i think, clean it up, touchup paint, then sand it down again with 2000grit and buff out with a compound...should come out pretty well. Seen it done on a Black G35 on some forum, think it was linked to ClubLexus' detailing section.
