Does anyone have a recomended vendor (see: best price) for recovery equipment?

My list so far:
  • ARB 24K snatch Strap (29') (ARB201HD) or Warn PN 29899
  • D-Ring/Clevis Shackles
  • Receiver Shackle and Pin
Starting with no equipment I want to get enough to not be a pain to others on the trail and to be able to help others when needed. If you see something I am missing please let me know.

I'm not stuck on any specific brand but I do want and don't mind paying for quality that will hold up for the long haul.

Thanks!

I know these two 'MUD vendors have specific sections for this stuff, and there are likely more as well....it "might" make more sense to purchase a complete ARB/Warn recovery kit, anticipating a future winch purchase.
I'm pretty sure that both those vendors have complete kits that have pretty much everything you've mentioned in them. I think Slee even has a package that comes with a bag to carry it all in.

My favorite recovery strap is ProComp due to the leather wrapped loops. Sometimes 4Wheel Parts Whoresellers has them for a rewasonable price.

If you live near a Tractor Supply store (TSC), that's where I get my shackles. TSC also has the best price on the all cast Hi-Lift - $42.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I went to TSC tonight and picked up some shackles. They had WARN branded ones and generics. The generics were rated higher, the threading on the pin was more sound and they were a lot cheaper. Thanks for the heads up 76FJ40. They were currently sold out of hi lifts but I'll keep looking.

I picked up an erickson recovery strap, 3" by 20'. Same brand as on offroadrecovery.com's site. I wanted the 30' but they didn't have it in stock. I'll see how this one works out and pick up a longer one down the road.

Again, thanks for all the help! Now, to get the truck dirty.....

I only use a 20' strap anymore....for MUD, a long strap is nice...for ROCK, you are usually doing short pulls, and even 20' can be too long.... (ih8mud ;) )

try snaking a 30' strap thru the trees too....uugh....

I always go with the thought that you can shorten a long strap but you can't lengthen a short one!!
