What would you recommend?
There are from soft to hard to roll up to sectional?
I would appreciate it if you can share your experience on any of them.

Thanks

I've got a roll up that came with the truck when I bought it. I love it. It's 100% watertight even on the highway, and it rolls back and stows out of the way in about 30 seconds if I need full bed access. Plus it doesn't cover the stake pockets so I can install bed rails or a rack with no clearance issues.

Mine's made by agricover. I would have never bought one before, but after having a truck with one I'd definitely buy one for my next truck.

Hey, thanks for your input. I'll look into agricover. Looks like they come in a few differen styles.

Thanks:cheers:

I've got the Access version. works great. My truck had 1 hole in each stake pocket that went through to the inner bed wall. It allowed a little rain to get in. I plugged them with some rubber plugs and it's been watertight ever since.

I've got a shell, so no cover, but just to add in $.02, the hard tonneau cover (ones that don't fold, just lifts up), I don't recommend. My friend has one on his truck, and it's a pain when trying to load anything of a decent size. So aggrivating. I don't know why he got it in the first place. It cuts the functionality of the bed by half, at least. Sorry for the rant, but I really hate them.

The soft cover that was mentioned would be the one I would go with.

Had a hard cover on an extended cab Z-71 off road that worked out fine because it never really got used as a truck. It was my wifes dailey driver. I've got a Lund soft cover that I can roll up out of the way on my 07 Tacoma that gets used as a truck. I'd recomend the soft cover if you are going to use your truck as a truck.

I got a plain old snap-close SnugTop. Nothing fancy and it can be difficult to snap back on if it gets REAl cold out but I have no problems with it. I got it from Summit Racing for @ $140 shipped last Summer.

A truck cap gives you more room to haul things but I ended up wanting to haul things that were too tall and so on. The visibility is cut way down with a truck cap as well. It does lock though so things are fairly secure although somewhat visible. Lots of dirt on back door so visibility gets poor again. Tundra rear power window not much good with these units obviously.

The snap down cover is the least cost usually but drilling all those holes in a truck wasn't for me and doing them up can be tough plus things aren't real secure if somebody wants to steal things.

The hard cover one piece that tilt up at the back looks clean and color coded but pretty much limits you to hauling what you can get under it or how many have seen these tilted up with somebody trying to haul something. Can be locked though. Perhaps maintenance on the gas shocks.
Those 3 fold covers are more useful than the tilt hardcover. I assume you can get these to lock. Don't consume bed area like a rolltop whose storage can is under the cover at the front usually.

I have been using a Pace Edwards rolltop cover that has aluminum slats in it for some support for snow etc or if you ever want to put things on it plus a knife won't cut through it for security sakes. It locks but covers the bed stakes. It takes up some box room as the can that it rolls into is under the front of it. Some manufacturers models have this part above but then you can see it sticking up behind your back window. They do not go over your tailgate so a separate lock, have used a POP A LOCK, put into your tailgate if it doesn't have one is the option. I find mine collects dirt and some water at the rear but this is mostly due to the seal around the tailgate. If I'm on dusty roads or raining out I put anything I want dry into a big rubbermaid container that will fit under the cover. The Pace Edwards can that the top rolls into has a drain hole and hose on each side that you run down through box to allow water to drain out. Generally these roll in and out without too much fuss but I'm not sure if they are all great with snow on them etc.
Lot's of guys buy a wooden sliding drawer assembly and slide this in thus you can put things in the drawer and roll back the cover if you need to haul larger things like a deep freeze still or a couch.
Several options and several pros and cons
thats my 4 cents:)
Oh had one more thought..1 thing that mine offers is that I can open my tailgate to take things in and out without having to open the cover. That may be a pro or a con again as you get a better seal if it wraps over it but tougher access.

After using a snap-on tonnea for a few years now, I want to graduate to a canback-style soft cover. On our recent trip I was thinking of picking one up before we went and I wish I would have. It was a hassle loading and unloading stuff into a cargo bag on the roofrack every night. Plus some stuff got wet up there in a downpour we encountered (not to mention an all-day rain). I didn't expect perfection out of the cargo bag though either. I think ith the cover we would have had an easier time loading and unloading our gear.

A co-worker has used a few of those tri-fold covers on his trucks. He doesn't even hardly go down a dirt road with his trucks though so it wouldn't be much of a test for it.
