Hi guys,

I recently did the rear AC cap fix to my '07 Land Cruiser. I was in the process of recharging it today and ran into a few problems and I wasn't sure exactly what do.

We filled the line with Freon 134a and we had trouble getting the compressor to click on. Eventually, we got it to click on, but there is still no cold air coming out of the system. The low side was roughly 50 PSI (which I know is a bit high) and the high pressure side way only about 100-110 PSI. From what I read that is not normal, and it obviously doesn't do anything.

Another thing to mention is that we only put in one 12oz can of Freon 134a.

Any suggestions on what to do? We had thought that maybe there wasn't enough refrigerant in the system to fully pressurize the high side.

Help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

You will probably need to have the system evacuated, vacuummed and pressure tested. Any shop with an A/C machine can do this for you. There is a small decal on the radiator support that will tell you how much freon should be in the system.

But if he capped his rear lines that amount is no longer accurate.

Add gas until the glass cleares (located above the filter by the driver side headlight)

For everyone wondering, we were able to figure it out by adding more refrigerant to the low pressure side. It is now blowing a nice 6 degrees celcius.
