For those that remember....I bought Mike's FJ. Been slowly making it mine....and here's a small update.

Here it is when I bought it. Great Cruiser, great platform to work off of.

I planned to fix a few of the leaks, paint it and keep it simple. Plans changed.

So I sanded it down.

Painted it desert dune.

Added a soft top, full soft doors, fixed the PS box leaks, main seal, trans-t-case....

put in suspension seats and harnesses:

and a rear TJ fold and tumble for the kids.

Also added a CO2 tank for OBA.

Built a mount for the 8274 and lightforce lights, finishing that up this weekend and will update with pictures.

Did it's first official run with the family, had a blast.

It's getting built FJ60 axles sitting in the garage: 4.56 gears, ARB's, 30 spline longs/hub gears, hydro assist.....

and those MT/R's are gone, have a set of Creepy's showing up this week to go on the TR beadlocks.

Up next is the SBC with TBI and 700R4, full re-wire and other small things like tube fenders, sliders, finish in the rock lights....on and on. :D

As you can see, it's a clear work in progress and thought I would share a bit. :grinpimp:

Very nice!

Looking good J.... Did you yank your 40 axles yet?

By the way, I looked on my worked bench and I have 4 valve stems sitting there. Oops.... Want me to put them in an envelope and send them to ya?

Thanks guys.

I haven't yanked the axles yet, shoulder is kinda in the way but I'm going to recruit my neighbor to help this weekend. Got all my ARB stuff yesterday so that is ready.

Don't worry about the valve stems, heading to the tire shop today (MT/R's are getting picked up) so I'll just grab a few. :D

I'll keep this thread updated as I progress.

oh yeah... forgot about your shoulder. I wish I was closer to give ya a hand. Make sure to re-tighten the valve nuts while you have the chance!

Kinda weird having more posts than you on a forum. :flipoff2:

:D

Thanks. No worries, my neighbor and father came over to help. Pulled the rear axle tonight (fun with one arm!) and got the MT/R's gone.

I'll keep on it this weekend.

Well, the 60 axles are not going to bolt in. The spring pads are 2" wider than my current 40 axles...so I'm either considering moving the spring pads, or the spring/shackle mounts. Either one requires work! :D

So, my bolt in application is not going to go smooooooth. Such is life! ;)
