How is the plastic cover surrounding the receiver removed?

Is this a "new to you" LC? I ask because I've never bought a truck with a pin, meaning (possibly) the previous owner put that in. I've never seen a plastic lock either...I guess I'm no help o_O

I don't think that is a plastic lock. It appears to be a power connector for high amp applications. Most likely for a winch.

The red item is for my winch. The issue is the black plastic molding that surrounds the receiver and is attached to the bumper cover. It pops loose at the bottom, but I cannot get the top part to come apart.

Once you remove the small pin on the bottom, there are two small tabs holding the cover on. Pull the bottom away first tilting the cover and lift up.

I appreciate the info crazy, but that sounds like the removal of the outside cover. It is the inner cover I am having trouble with. It is an 08 and there are two big screws holding it at the bottom.

You need to remove the bumper to remove the black plastic piece. It's held on by some blue plastic clips on the backside of the bumper. The body shop that painted my bumper forgot to put those clips back in and now it's not tight. I'm waiting for the time to take it back for another bumper R&I.

What is your reason for wanting to remove the black plastic trim around the receiver? I find the trim is extremely close to the pin hole in the receiver, and especially with a locking pin, is difficult to install. I like how the receiver on the 200 is integrated into the rear bumper, instead of hanging below like on the 80/100's, but the execution is poor.

I recently had a GMC Yukon while the 200 was in the shop (another story), a much cleaner simple example. I think in other threads, 200's from other parts of the world have a different setup than we have in the states.
