I got a 95 corolla with a sticky brake caliper piston. Sometimes it sticks and sometimes it doesn't. I was wondering if it was worth it to rebuild or just replace. A remanufactured "new" one would cost only 36 after an exchange of the old. Never tried a caliper rebuild and wonder what the success rate of a rebuild would be if I would want to challenge myself. Thanks for the input.

Personaly, I would just replace it.

I hate rebuilding calipers/masters..

Rebuilding calipers isn't bad if they aren't totally locked up(been sitting for years). Even so, at $36 bucks, I would probably just replace it. It would take more than 36 dollars worth of my time to rebuild 2 calipers.

I just replaced it. I was encouraged by a friend who still has his running even after 2 years after a rebuild.
I still got some squealing. Maybe because I couldn't get one of the sliding bolts off. That's the one that connects the caliper to the car. What's the best way to get it off? I tried to reinstall the caliper bolt on with closed end wrench (enough to lock the wrench loop) and banged away on the wrench trying to seperate it off. I tried to chiesel it out but am afraid to break something. Any suggestions?
