I have a Reba SL front fork on my hard tail 29er. I'm 205ish, and I think the bushings are starting to get too loose. I suspect my weight may have helped. Anyway, in braking I get shimmy from lateral movement between the lower assembly and the stanchions. Apparently there's some way to "resize" the bushings rather than replace them. They are a split cylinder type bushing so I assume they must sit in a slightly tapered seat so you press them down a bit further to make them tighter? I really can't figure out any other way to do it.
Practically all the online stuff I see are MTB folks that say to send them in for "resizing". I've found that most cyclists find any mechanical work beyond very simple stuff too complicated and send it to the shop. My guess is that it's really not that difficult, but I don't know.
Anyone ever done something like this?
