Only issue I see with a door on a hinge like this for the side cubbies is you kill any option of a drawer system. The DS access panel is ideal because you can still get it off.
not if the sides of the platform hinge up.

I sold the last one, it came painted which pissed me off. They have assured me this one will be raw aluminum. It should work perfectly now that I have a raw aluminum plate to put on the tailgate. I already have a southco latch to replace the one on there. only bummer is it 6 to 8 weeks out on backorder

What thickness is Wagongears lids?
Would still like to be able to stand on tailgate (hatch down) to get at roof rack without caving storage area in. I'm thinking the tractions of diamond plate would be a nice addition rather then ice slick smooth metal.
Between the drawer build, side wheel well cubbies, overhead attic area, and side panels, I will have more junk then a Big Lots store!

Foo what is the height of these off the deck? My rear drawers clear the carpet by about 1/4" and was hoping they'd clear.

By the way warezdog, sorry to keep spending your money... Post up pics of your underhood lights sometime.
At a minimum these hatches are 1/2 inch ...based on the picture this hatch will not work if you're looking for 1/4 inch above the carpet
Here's the hatch that I have ... I think the profile is lower then the one above and its just over 1/2 inch tall... It's a Jim Black hatch
LOL! You never have to apologize for spending my money on mods I can actually afford!
I know there are super bad @$$ options out there for the tail gate but I'll always opt to put my hard earned nickels towards other things like drive train, gears, tires, & suspension, things that make the pig more capable.

Ok, took me a little longer.. Work is overrated.
Here are two pics. One is with the straightedge on the lower part of the floor, the other at the higher part.

That is with no carpet in the trunk area. Hard to see on the white doors; however, it tapers up, so I would say that you need to be about 1/2 higher on your drawer to clear. So, 1/2 spacer under your drawer and you should clear.
