Working on the OME install. Fronts are done, rear springs are in. How do you get the top nut off the rear shock, since the top shock body spins when wrenching the nut?

I removed my rear shocks today. They are the TRD shocks but I assume they are close to the same. I used a small crescent wrench on the flat part of the top of the shock just below the bottom washer that supports the bushing below the frame. I don't know if that makes sense but I hope it helps. There are two bushings that surround the shock stud as it goes through the frame. Hold the flat part of the shock stud as you loosen the nut for the shock stud. Gook luck.

The other way to do it is to use a large pair of channel locks on the upper body of the shock where it's welded at the top. Soak the top nut in penetrating oil (not WD40) let it soak in for a few minutes then take the top nut off. The bottom nut always comes off easy.
