Folks,
Just recently added SPC UCAs from Slee to allow proper alignment with BP51s. Since I have 170k and the rear brakes were due for service I just had NEW Toyota rotors installed along with pads. Everything was great till the morning after pickup. I noticed a “whooshing noise” which escalated into a flock of birds chirping noise. Called the Toyota dealership and took it back in. After the initial “we can’t reproduce it” and my insistence that they check it out further they indeed found the culprit. The NEW rotors were made a bit different, and were rubbing on the inner hub near backing plate. A turn on their lathe and few thousandths later it was spot on. The logged a note to the Toyota factory engineers and I was on my way. Just passing along in case someone else hits this. It was worsened when truck suspension flexed (yes on the solid rear axle) over speed bumps. I have a 2008 200 series. Happy wheeling!
