After doing some serious interior cleaning last week, decided to finally do something about my rear cup holder, or rather, lack there of. Fortunately had some left over ABS/Kydex for this quick mod.
After totally removing what was left of the pop-out cup holder hardware...
Step 1: Popped off the rear cup-holder panel, and measured the sheet of plastic to fit.
Step 2: Decided to go rough side out - marked and drilled holes to use the screws from the cup holder hardware and the existing mounting holes. Secured with said screws.
Step 3: Re-secure panel and enjoy your work.
Now - could you paint or use color-matched plastic? Of course. Could I have done a way better job of measuring, and drilled into those tabs in the front and made this panel fit flush? Absolutely. I didn't do any of that because for starters I didn't want to drill into any of the original interior, and secondly I wanted something with a little more support behind it as I've got plans to fit an Amazon cup holder I found to that panel now. Will include an update and more photos once it comes in today.
