The wire feed motor stopped working on my Hobart. Is the motor DC and should I have DC power to one of the posts on the rheostat when pulling the trigger? What is that round cylinder looking thing between the rheostat and the motor? In the middle of welding a bumper and would like to keep welding.

Well there is a little white reset button way up above the motor in case anyone has this problem in the future.

Thanks for looking.

Just saw this post.

I'm guessing you tripped a breaker. Good chance you exceeded the duty cycle of your little welder.

Imho, a 120v welder is not suited for welding on a bumper unless your bumper is made of 1/8" thick steel.
