Did you know Metal Tech is a Ready Welder dealer? The Ready Welder is 100% portable MIG (GMAW aka wire feed) spool gun welders. They operate primarily on 2 or 3 12 volt automotive batteries and are rated for steel as light as 22 gage or as thick as ¾”. The ADP model can also be hooked up directly to a stick (SMAW or ARC) machine as DC power source as well as the batteries. You can run gasless using flux core wire for steel or a shielding gas for solid core steel wire. The Ready Welder welds steel, stainless and aluminum or any metals where standard one or two pound spools are available.
I have been so impressed with these machines due to the value they bring in their size. Backed with a 2 yr parts and labor warranty, that excides most other brands of full size welders they stand out for durability. Heck the US military is now buying these and issuing them for field use. Where they come in for a LandCruiser owner is the versatility. It alone could be your main welder or a secondary intended for trail repairs. (Or the second welder when the shop moochers show up for your welder!) It comes with the briefcase sized padded carrying case so it takes minimal space to store or wheel with. For power you don’t need a 220v power source for deep welds, so even an apartment parking lot is your fab shop. The bottom line is the weld performance rivals the traditional full size MIG machine yet as for price it is far less than a full size 220v machine.
