Evening fellas, does anyone out there with the knowhow want to make some cash helping me re gear ? My front 3rd member is getting ready to grenade. Any offers or suggestions would be mighty kind.

I got a few estimates.....not conducive with 4 kids. I work on my rig, just never done gears
and seeing how its my DD with a full family i decided to ask for help. My name is Mark and we live in
North Park, If one of you bites on this i make for a good wrenching partner!!. Will travel just about anywhere for the helping hand. Thanks guys.

Mark, welcome! Yes a few of us can help with gears. Can you bring the third to one of our places to be repaired or do you need help and tools to in North Park?

GOOD MORNING! Wow how awesome is this! I'm pretty sure I can pull the thirds, never done it but how hard can it be rite?!where are you fellas located frank? I'll buy the new gears from yotamasters tomorrow. I'll make the drive up in the AM. Unless you know of some place here in SD. Thank you for the offer to help frank... the universe is still good!! I do better with voice not too good on text, but I can if you prefer. My thumbs don't work like they once did.619 246 4197

Sorry for taking so long to respond. So we are having a Wrench Day in Fallbrook Saturday the 28th which would be a perfect day to bring up a third member to set up gears. I know it's a bit far from North Park. If you are interested PM me and I can pass on the address.

I can bring my press, in-lb torque wrench, and micrometer/magnetic base. I'd suggest reading up on the process and of course get the master rebuild kit so you have all of the necessities.

If you are in a jam and need it done right away, Progear (Differentials And Axles, Gear And Posi - Pro Gear - San Diego, Ca) has done very good work for me in the past. Of course that's not the most affordable option but I only have weekends to wrench.

Frank

@elripster dont forget that thin walled 30mm socket and adapters for the torque wrench. I also have a bag with a bunch of misc third member shims I might be able to bring to wrench day this weekend.

Good reminder!

Mark, let us know if you can make it. I have to travel for work this week and have a new born here at home hence why I only have weekends to do truck stuffs.

Frank

Thank you guys , I will keep you posted . I travel to NY Sunday for work i'll have to see how this week pans out.

I sent a member request in for your group, i look forward to meeting all/some of you.Mark

Sounds good. We meet in Escondido at Mike's BBQ the 1st Tuesday of every month so we will be there 5/1.

@zapata your 80 isn't by chance white is it? I saw a white 80 in NP yesterday, gave the driver a thumbs up.

It is... big rack on top black hood, were you on Alabama st? You were in a sedan? Green?

Also, has the front axle been serviced recently or will you be rebuilding it at the same time? If the axle has already been rebuilt them you will only need to buy a few gaskets, oil, and grease.

Red Hyundai hatch back, was around 4 ish. I don't remember a rack or black hood. Guess I'll see Saturday

I want to check/make sure it's AOK to bring the rig up on Sat....instead of just the 3rd members. my wife will have the other car w/the kids so i would need to drive up. The scope of
work needed for my rig is significant (IMO). I'm not savvy to the ways of these work parties, and don't want to "pinch"any of you out.

It’s cool, it will just be a long busy day. With a few sets of hands it should go fairly quickly. Taking the axle apart and putting it back together is straight forward. It’s setting up the gears that takes time. Just make sure to get there at 9am to give us the most time to assist.

Did you get this sorted? The noise from the transfer case I mean
