and how many of you run de-smogged Cruisers...really....find something else to gripe about!!

<snip>giant cut&paste <snip>

the fact is, (as has been proven time and again in the tech sections) a well tuned 'cruiser will actually pass smog without the emmisions crap in place, and a badly tuned one will fail despite the smog gear
:meh:

all my units are diesel, and are tuned properly, i.e. no soot. and get far better milage than any comparable gasser which means fewer grams of greenhouse gas per mile. just for the record, dipshits who turn up the fuel volume and/or advance injector timing to produce huge clouds of soot are in the same douchebag-attention-whore category as open pipe hardly-davidson "riders".

not to mention the knobs that put oversize mud tires on a truck that will never leave the pavement, just so it makes more noise. good goin' throwing your money down the s***ter, mud tires are softer rubber and will wear like crap on pavement compared to a suitable radial tire. you can't fix stupid.

Yes that was a gang of cut and paste! lol. I will stand corrected about de-smogged vehicles too. But for every one that is "tuned" etc correctly there are probably thousands that aren't. It's just a bummer that more people aren't as actively concerned with preserving the planet...
Oh and F the garbage man for making all that noise...

Garbage trucks are loud because of what they do--they are not intentionally made louder to get folks' attention.

I was tuning the carbs on my 350 out front, had it up to 7k rpm a couple times. A neighbor walked by with his son and asked if there were any noise ordinances in this city. I told him there were, so he should keep his loud mouth shut. His son burst out laughing. The neighbor laughed. I laughed. And then I apologized for making so much noise on a Saturday afternoon.
