Not sure but I think he busted the $5000 budget on that one!! It was interesting build from what we saw, didn’t keep it for long at all.
It's FUGLY! Really poor taste IMO.
What do you mean $5K budget? No one could possibly think they could get a pig built for anything close to that number. But yeah, that's about what it'd be worth to me.

Ah, is there a mythical $5K budget for the typical 55 owner? I don't remember reading the build thread on this pig. Perhaps he had a much bigger budget that this comment was mocking. 🤷‍♂️
The $5k budget is a running joke among Pig owners. Most of us have way more than $5k tied up in a rig. Heck, some of us have more tied up in 55 parts trucks for our 1 running driving truck.

The lies we tell ourselves...

Or, if one is married and needs a "preliminary estimate" to get the budget approved, this is a safe place to start.
🤣I'm thankful my wife and I have separate budgets. She really doesn't care how much I spend on cars., which actually isn't much.
If Beck is married, I doubt his wife would have any worries either. ;)

There may be a little sarcasm around here also.

Sarcasm, inside jokes that go back years and years, or even maybe a couple days from an entirely unrelated thread.
You have to be on here daily for a long while to even partly understand. And even then…

The Beck Pig is now on BAT. Should be interesting…

Love it..
This best part of the Beck pig is the haters, I'm still looking for someone with talent that has actually built something cool to post hate... So far the talented can appreciate it for what it is and look past the ugly wart on it's nose.
I might be a buyer, we'll see what it ends up going for and I believe I'll be on a plane heading for Florida on the closing date that could throw a wrench in my plans...

My prediction is that it will sell for less than a stock pig in excellent condition.
Modifying vehicles takes a skill set but so does restoring one to stock.
Different strokes for different folks.
Me personally, im of the class of people who has to work every day, so i can appreciate work which increase the resale value of a car. The Beck pig is a great example of the opposite.
Stacks of cash invested, workmanship can be fantastic but you're not getting 20c on the dollar back.
Seems less than prudent to me.
I prefer to build things i can sell for more than what ive got in em...
It will be interesting to see if my prediction comes true.
My prediction:
This won't go past 100k and if it does it will be promptly relisted due to non payment.

This plays into the reasons I dont build cars. There's almost no return on investment, so i build custom tube power amps which i can at least get all of my money out of vs the 20c on the dollar that car guys settle for...

Edit: and just one battery.
Love it.
600k build and they put in one battery.
Anyone familiar with the 12v Cummins in its original form should know that they work a heck of a lot better with 2 batteries.
Single battery was available but thats what you call (poverty spec)
On a "cost no object build" for a celebrity. Pardon my skepticism but in 25 years in the industry ive seen a lot of garbage hidden behind fresh paint...

You'll do it right Buddy 👍🤔🧐😉😏😘😘😘

Sometimes hate is deserved. You don't need to be a world class car builder to see a less than ideal job.

To do 'better', all you'd need to do is build the same rig without the out of place looking fenders, that also would be a pain to revert back to stock.

Save time, money, would look better and be just as 'capable'....and fit the -awesomeness- of the rest of the build.

OR, not hack up stock pristine survivor as was done here. No need to 'build'. The OG Beck pig was 'better' without a modified body panel.

interested to see how it plays out!
