Love it..
This best part of the Beck pig is the haters, I'm still looking for someone with talent that has actually built something cool to post hate... So far the talented can appreciate it for what it is and look past the ugly wart on it's nose.
I might be a buyer, we'll see what it ends up going for and I believe I'll be on a plane heading for Florida on the closing date that could throw a wrench in my plans...
Anyone of us who have done most/all the work on our pigs know how much TIME is involved plus the MONEY for parts, supplies, and even parts pigs. I had to buy a 1985 2F complete fan to flywheel then bought literally all new stuff to slap on like fan, water pump, belts, etc etc etc just so I could take it off and then know how to put it back on…so I would feel it is reliable. Now that cost TIME and MONEY for sure. I agree JMack, we can chuckle on money spent or perhaps gasp or maybe even “hate” but these trucks aren’t easy nor cheap. But they are fun. That said, I can’t wait until we all see what happens on BAT.

I've never understood the folks who, in any arena, feel the need to diminish others in order to make themselves feel good. I can appreciate good workmanship and significant effort without personally wanting to repeat the choices behind them. I've also never worried about ROI whether building my Pig, working on the Porsche or motorcycles or buying southwestern art in Santa Fe and Taos in the '70s and '80s. My personal returns are enjoying the process, appreciating the results and the memories all that brings and the smile factor.
I was lucky enough to break almost exactly even dollar-wise selling the Frankencruiser/Bonnie, was lucky to buy a rare Porsche brand new at a discount 55 years ago and smart enough to hang on to it, tossed more coin down the dumper on various motorcycles and other stuff than good judgement would normally allow and my kids will have to deal with the artwork and other things that I have no idea of value for other than what was paid decades ago. Blind dumb luck of a 25-year-old means my grandkids will have a decent start on a college fund when I finally sell the Porsche next spring/summer. If JMack actually ends up with the Beckmobile I'll be first in line for a ride and anxiously await seeing what he'll do to make it better. Actually think it looks kinda cool absent too much lift for my taste and not being a diesel fan.

I have one real question about this pig and it is based on real knowledge about cooling...
If they can answer truthfully about how they keep this pig cool over local mountain passes I'd be a real buyer
That might have been the issue that caused Beck to fall out of love with it.
Out of room with that 6BT in there.
Probably loud AF too.

So prove me wrong and show us your talent to do better!
Im not claiming to be that builder.
What im saying is that I've seen enough garbage work under fancy paint to surmise that the majority of these builds, in the open market, will not return 20c on the dollar spent to build them.
Often they return less than that and the buyer is still getting a box of compromises under fancy paint. For example, this has one battery.
Should really have 2 given the cost of the build.
Probably can't stay cool either.
Drive it for a month and those may prove to be the least of its problems.
Or not...
What do I know, ive only been cleaning up these sorts of messes for 25 years or so...

The look is fine with me. It’s not stock, but I don’t mind that. Can’t say I’d choose a diesel either, but I guess some people are more worried about emp attacks. Bottom line for me is I can’t have shiny things. I’m content with 20 footers.

It’s still at 25k and that would be a steal for under 30-35k. If I had the scratch, I could get over a lot little things about it and enjoy driving the wheels off it. I know I could never replicate it. My ADD is too strong to focus like that.

It will sell for more than we think.
Having sold some cars on BAT they will try to get you well below what you are comfortable with, the 4 highest priced pigs on BAT are between 72k and 85k. I'm betting Glenn spent close to the 300k to build this with the drama of the first shop closing mid build and paying the second shop to finish so even if they can show value with build receipts I would guess the reserve is under 100k.

I concur, some silly money was spent on this rig. Does BAT suggest/set the reserve pricing for the seller? I didn’t know that was the case if so.
Yes and no.. The ultimate decision is yours but when you fill out the request form you say what you would like the reserve to be then they come back and lowball you citing market value and wanting you to set reserve below that. You can negotiate some but yes they set the pricing and if you want to use their platform you'll accept it.

Yes bat wants the reserve low because that’s where they make money. They make 100 to list and then the only money they make is meeting reserve so they get the percentage of the sale. The lower the reserve the more chance it will reach and sell and they get paid

@J Mack why would you consider buying this when you could build this same rig but a better version? I’ve never really looked hard at pictures of this pig until the bat listing and the more you look the more I really like my 10k pig. The first pic of the fender is just such a simple non caring aspect to me. You spend all the time to build fenders and make custom flares and not the extra couple hours to make them seamless and line up to me is just crazy. And then the handles with the paint peeling cause there wasn’t prep work done. Body work cracking.

Don't know if you seen any of @J Mack other builds, but they are high and Top notch to most Customized or Hot Rod builds that I have seen in years.1 Truck ,Car, Hotrod, 4x4, don't matter! I see him getting this Beck Pig and correcting what he thinks needs to be corrected. I have the utmost respect in his abilities and skills in every build he does! If he was closer I would be right beside my Bro in the garage helping the best I could 😉. Final statement Excellent mechanic and fabricator 😘
