I had that truck image in my head earlier when I was thinking why not make the factory fenders wider and not look like they took fenders off a bug and welded them on. JP has a 55 they are building and had the fenders all mocked up when I was there this summer for a wide stance. This is the pig I want to build to piss everyone off. Obviously Ai I had do it

(A) I think it's cool and I like the fact it pisses so many people off.
(B) If I could get it for the right price I would make it cool then flip it..

Starting with different fender flares!!!!

Who does it piss off? I dislike the look and drivetrain. That’s not the same as “pissed off”. Do I care that someone did this to a pig rather than restore in a conventional manner? Not at all. Yeah, you should buy and fix the appearance. That would improve the value. Perhaps you’d get your money back. 😀

We have a different understanding of terms.
Color me “disgusted”.
“No, "disgusted" and "pissed off" are not the same emotion, but they are related and often experienced at the same time.
  • Pissed off is a common slang term for being angry, annoyed, or highly irritated. Anger is associated with high-cost, direct aggression.
  • Disgusted is a reaction of strong aversion, revulsion, or loathing towards something offensive, repulsive, or morally violating….”

Noted; Remove Devils Paw 80 from the pissed off group and add him to the "disgusted" group

I’ve only been here 10 years but in that short time I haven’t seen any two pigs built the same, nothing “conventional” about a pig restoration down here. Maybe you can explain to the group what “restore in a conventional manner” is and exactly why this one disgust you so much.

For the record none of them disgust me.. I like big ones, little ones, perky ones, saggy ones, old ones… Hell I don’t even care if you needlessly weld the entire frame I still like em!

Since you guys seemed insistent on ascribing an emotion to my responses here about this truck I chose disgusted because anger certainly doesn't apply. Disgusted is actually too strong of a term IMO. I simply just don't like the look of the interior or exterior.

Perhaps some purists would be "pissed off" that so much money was spent here and the truck wasn't restored in a more conventional way, meaning a return to mostly stock condition with new Toyota parts. That would be more preferable for my tastes, but again I don't really care what someone chooses to do with their build. OTOH, I don't have to like it and I don't like this one!

Sofj45 has two here in Hawaii and I like both of them. One is SOA. BTW, if you're reading this Mason, I noticed a person with name "BigMahalos" is following this Beck Piggy on BAT and really seems to like it. Perhaps we will see it coming to the islands!

Since you seemed insistent on ascribing your emotions about this Pig ad nauseam I simply like pointing out that’s what I like most about this pig still!

This is a ridiculous comment, why would a “purists” care about the money spent on a non-pure project?

Again there isn’t a “conventional way” that pigs are restored down here we have it all from guys literally searching the World Wide Web looking for the one last OEM Toyota part from 1970 still in factory packaging to the guys turning their Toyota into Chevy’s that resemble a Pig. With that said this Glenn Beck Pig is 100% conventional for what we typically see down here..

What we don’t see a lot down here is guys continually popping into threads crapping on the vehicles because they weren’t built to their liking.

How many more times you think you can pop down to remind us you don't like it before you just start sounding like an old man yelling at the clouds?

I will usually reply to comments directed my way. If this pig actually belonged to a member here then I would not have initially expressed my disapproval.
Last I checked the bid was $36K.
How high will it go, Pig whisperers?

Those wide fenders kill it!
Shoulda gone with a two-tone paint scheme so the fenders stand out from the body. SOA Pigs need at least 37s. I might like a 6BT...

Highest Pig sale prices on BAT over the last five years were as follows. For TLC restomods, highest being $85K in 2020 and $75K earlier this year. Both Vortec/4L60 combos. Couple of very nice stock restos in that time frame were a TLC project at $82.5K and then another done elsewhere at $72.5K.
At a high level, kinda 6-7 as the younguns say.

Seems to me that the resto team put a serious amount of time/effort/$ putting this one together but, its also clear they aren't necessarily Landcruiser specific builders. Rim offset and tires look off as well as some of the interior. Not pissed off either but just seems when these pigs are done by a really knowledgeable LC specific shop it just looks right. IIRC this was previously listed for 299k.😮. Just my .02$ here
