I know this is technically in the wrong section, but the winchers reside here and thought it might be worth the post.

Just pulled this winch off my 40 that I am restoring. It looks well used, but did not engage when I plugged in the controls. Not sure if it works or not, but the PO said it did. Probably needs some work. I'm not a Ramsey guru. I just tried for about 5 seconds to make it work.

Make me an acceptable offer and it's yours.

Hi All:

Ah, this thread needs to be moved to the For Sale section!

This part of the Forum is for tech questions about winches, winching, and so on.

Regards,

Alan

I've got a REP 8000, but if I were the owner of that 6K, I'd first check to see that it freewheels when you disengage the clutch to be sure spool's not seized. Than I'd be looking at your solenoids and try a jumper bypass to see if motor runs. If you can ID the problem, you'll be able to get more for it. That's a small winch to run on a Landcruiser, even a 40. But you might get a mini owner interested.
