can you run and drive without the little capacitor not installed on the back of the alternator (FJ62).

I suspect that you could do so for a short time, but knowing that the purpose of that unit is to filter out electrical noise and absorb minor spikes I'm not sure if you'd be doing damage to any electronics or not.
