Anyone know if it's possible to disable the low beam as DRL and instead turn on the LEDs?

I noticed that the LEDs only come on when it's dark; during the day time, DRLs = low beam (perhaps with slightly lower intensity). It's a bit of an odd design choice in the US - where every other brand seems to favor LEDs. On the bright side it's less "bling", but I just think it'd look a tad cooler. Anyone know if it's possible?

I would like that too. Instead I found a decent workaround. I disabled the DRLs and use the parking lights during the day, which illuminate the LEDs also. They turn off automatically once the engine is off. At night, I switch to the headlights.

I thought the entire point of parking lights was that they'd stay on when parked, so your parKed vehicle is easier to spot. If they turn off automatically when you switch off the engine, does this mean that the parking lights are - in fact - not parking lights? Or are they perhaps activated "old school" style by leaving the indicator stalk in the up or down position to turn on the lights on the left or right side?

Of course, I can test this myself! Getting stream of consciousness. Thanks for the tip, though!

Your question was so intriguing to me, that I did go out and figured out the way they work:

- If the parking lights are ON while the truck is running (LED DRL's), they will automatically turn OFF when the truck is turned OFF
- If you want to have the parking lights ON while the truck is OFF simply turn them OFF (if they were ON when the truck was shut OFF) and ON again while the truck is OFF. The parking lights will then stay ON while the truck is parked.

This definitely falls into the category of, "Learn something new about my LC every day."

Challenge is the LED strip is not very bright which is more for esthetic purpose at night. During day time that strip is barely visible.

As did I. Thanks!

In another thread, a user was able to make the DRL led strip much brighter like the JDM version. I want to figure out how to wire it in order to make the led strip the DRL.
