my sister drives a honda crv and one of her cv joints is wearing out and makes noise when turning right. the question is would it be okay for her to make the 6 hour drive home with it in this condition?

btw this is the kinda chat i like hehe

thanks

i had this 86 honda civic. it had 180K on it. i hated that thing. it stank, it was slow, and it was ugly. I dubbed it 'The s***ter'
The s***ter was the best damn car i ever drove. i pounded that thing. jumped it, dumped the clutch in it. i hated that thing. when i first got it, the cv axle made a little noise. not long after me abusing it, the noise got worse. i still continued to try and kill it.
but it never failed.

im not gonna tell you you will be fine, or that its gonna fail right fawkin now. you have to take your own risks. just make sure you got towing on yer insurance.

tell her to avoid turning :D

seriously, it's unlikely to go but it might is about all i can say.

ditto the thousands of miles, my old daewoo bastard pontiac made a goodly bit of noise from a CV axle, drove it across the country, one winter (DD) of -40+ (- actually) and only when I took the wrong road in spring, and buried it up to the axle in mud, did it finally puke its bearings.
bit of noise, no problem, hell, it's going to get replaced anyway, may as well get every cent out of it first.
that said, the other side on the same car was starting to make a bit of noise, so when the other one grenaded, we washed the not so fawked one out, repacked it and put on a new boot, and it was quiet and fine for another couple of years
