I know the limited editions came with the rear diff lock, what about the SR5 model? Was it available as an option? I am looking at a mint 96 to buy, its an SR5 with cloth, it has the diff lock button to the left of the steering wheel but just wanted to make sure...thanks

Rear diff locker was an option on both the Limited and the SR5 models. Make sure that it is functioning properly by engaging it (on dirt if possible). You have to be in 4LO. I love my locker.
Also realize that the 96 had a recall on a head gasket issue, so be sure that has been resolved or will be taken care of. (assuming it's a 3.4L V6).

Yea the headgasket was done, that was the first thing I looked for, I found a beauty with only 112K miles, has all records, no accidents etc...damn I cant wait to wheel it..

Yea its a local truck, I am grabbing it tomorrow! woop! Its insanely mint, treated like gold and hardly driven. I looked at 6-7 runners down here before I found that one and each one had been either a total loss or at least 2 collisions , had it inspected and didnt have any issues so I lucked out.... Next week comes a small lift and some meats!
