I am getting ready to powdercoat my stock 16" chrome lx470 wheels any plan on doing them in black to match my exterior color. I know that atleast one of you guys have done this and i would like any insight into your experiences with it. I also plan on having the lugnuts coated but what about the center caps? I would also appreciate any pics if you have them.

don't think you can pc plastic (center caps)? My understanding is you need a electric current to run thru whatever you are pc'ing.

lugnuts would be a bad idea- they would scuff off in a few twists of a lever.

For the center caps, you'll just have to go to the local automotive parts store and buy a can of spray paint in a color that matches your pc'd wheels.

You may be S.O.L. on the lugnuts. Don't think I've ever seen black ones.

Search for 'powder coated wheels" in the 80 series forum. I know some people there have done it.

They're gonna have to sandblast that chrome off first. Not sure how difficult that's going to be, but anyhow, I bought my wheels used on ebay and had them PC'ed. Came out nice. The center caps I rattle canned flat black and they match as close as they can. Left the lug nuts as is.
