The molding that goes around the metal bottom was painted black with a brush...... So I bought some black edge molding and replaced it. Also none of the hardware matched like two sheetrock screws a couple Philips screws and hex head bolts then the broken and missing stuff so I got all new stainless hardware.

I got tied up for a bit dealing with some glue drama in the door jams and after an hour or so I decided to order a wheel to try to help remove it.. More on the later.
Started back of the front end.

Clean all the old sealant off the threads of the studs and housing and reseal.
Re-install the third and put all that back in the Pig. Installed the new pinion seal and re-torqued all the stuff back down.

Old shock and new shock set in approximate location, the front end is at full droop shackles pulled back tight. You can see the new shock can easily be mounted and still give 1/2" or so more down than what's possible, we wont have 5" of up from here so the 7.7" or what ever I ordered of travel is about perfect for this.
Should be easy to see the longer (OLD) shock had about 5" more down travel than the spring/shackles would allow and only 2" of up.

Thanks. I only asked the question about the top mount for the front shocks because I had not appreciated that the original bayonet mounts had been replaced by a hoop. I will post my front measurements in my build thread to get everyone's take on shock sizing.

You guys probably already know this, but; The steering box right there is gonna want to flex the frame a bit, maybe even more than you think it will. I added a diagonal brace between siderail and front crossmember to decrease that. Hard to get a pic with the ground all wet...
