I've noticed some rust bubbling up around the two bottom corners of my windshield seal on my 60 (it leaks all winder long).

Just wondering how hard it is to pull out the rubber seal, repair the rust, and put the seal back in? I've never done this before but would prefer not to have to pay a windshield shop to do it for me.

Also, would it be wise to pump some caulk in there once the rust is repaired as well? Installing new windows in my house using lots of caulk, eyed the Cruiser and figured it might work there too...?

It's best just to cut the gasket out with a sharp razor knife, and then pull the windshield. If you try to pull the windshield without cutting the gasket there is a good chance you will break it.

Once you have fixed your rust (its probably much worse than it looks), then have a mobile windshield installer come reinstall it with a new gasket. It should be about $30 - $40 for the new gasket and maybe $60 or $70 for the install.

Don't use silicone, just use good etching primer over the bare metal repairs then a good primer & paint around the inside.
